As Online Marketers we all need to know how to get more email subscribers. When you have a healthy list of engaged subscribers your business can really flourish.
Learning how to get more email subscribers is the core objective for an online business. However having a list with millions of email addresses still will not guarantee you online success. Some people say “The money is in the list”. This is not entirely true. Of course having a million subscribers will give you a better chance of success than having 100. However if you take one point away from this blog let it be this. The real money is in your relationship with your list.
I will go through some techniques to help show you how to get more email subscribers. But what you really need to simultaneously focus on is building the relationship with the list. By doing this, the list embraces you as a brand and looks forward to opening your emails because of how much value they get from you over time.
Build a relationship with your list
I am part of The Six Figure Mentors Digital Skills academy. As such the majority of my learning from them has been centered around how to get more email subscribers, Lead generation, sales generation and relationship building with your list. I would strongly urge anyone wanting to further their learning to join my mailing list for an insight into what SFM can do for them.
Put yourself in the psychological shoes of someone browsing your website. What would get you to subscribe to your mailing list? This is the mindset SFM has taught me and its changed the way I blog and the way I approach list building. Getting inside the mind of a prospect I now realize I would want to see the following to encourage me to join my mailing list:
- Great informative content.
- Free Trials or Free subscriptions.
- Subscriptions to more cutting edge blog content.
- Free eBooks.
- Access to anything that will add VALUE to my business.
- Access to information that solves a problem I was searching for.
If I was on a website that offered some of the above in return for my email address I would sign up in a heartbeat. When someone signs up, what happens next? What do you do with your list?
Use AWeber or similar package
AWeber is essential for how to get more email subscribers. It will host your email lists. The AWeber platform also gives you the platform you need to give your subscribers VALUE. You are able to alert subscribers to new content, send subscribers free eBooks, email offers to your subscribers and most importantly, build a relationship with your subscribers. You’re also give them solutions to their problems. AWeber integrates with The Six Figure Mentors (SFM) Digital Business Lounge. You can use opt in/landing page templates within SFM and/or AWeber to produce seamlessly professional pages for your visitors to come to. SFM helped me step by step with setting this up. They even provide email templates to help you connect with your subscribers.
On your website you can offer your prospective subscribers some or all of the earlier mentioned bullet points. Using AWeber with the Digital Business Lounge (DBL) you can then provide the VALUE that comes from delivering on your promises. If you are relatively new to this (like I was), SFM and the DBL provide so much support and training. They show you how to do this like a professional very quickly indeed. There is still the incessant need to give your website the best chance of getting subscribers for you to add value to. A simple but yet effective way of how to get more email subscribers is to actually call people to action.
Use Call To Actions
Telling customers is much more effective than asking them. We as online marketers have this intrinsic desire to be polite and courteous. Asking prospects if they “would like” some more of this or how “they feel” about some more of that. We don’t want to be too pushy or come across as obnoxious and in their face. However, we can examine the psychology of a prospect like we did earlier. If you are browsing a website for guidance or a solution to a problem who would you instill your trust in? Would it be the submissive persons website that says, “you could try my ebook it has some information about xyz”. Or would you trust the more assertive and confident sounding website that says, “download this eBook Right Now. It has everything you need to solve xyz”.
People buy people. Use your call to actions to show you believe in your offering and you are confident that it will help people. I 100% endorse The Six Figure Mentors and DBL tutorials. I’ve mentioned this a few times during this very blog because SFM have made me who I am today and they are fantastic. I believe and I’m confident in this so I can assertively call you to action by saying you must download my FREE eBook below:
You may also have noticed my website has a call to action at the top of the page and another box in the center as well. As part of my mentorship with SFM I have been using WordPress via the Digital Business Lounge (DBL). There is an excellent plugin called Dreamgrow Scroll Triggered Box. This allows you to customize call to actions on your website. If you are asking people to view your content repeatedly it implies that you believe in it. It implies you know 100% that it will help them. You are not selling products, merely offering great quality content to help your subscribers do better.
I use the My Lead Bar plugin at the top of the page. There are many helpful plugins within WordPress. There is no harm in using 2,3,4 or 5+ call to actions whether they be lead bars, side bars boxes, or links within the post. Make it as easy as possible for browsing prospects to take the action you call them to take. You may feel like you are bombarding prospective subscribers with call to actions or implying you may spam them. This is not the case.
How to get more email subscribers to trust you are not spam
The simplest ways to ensure your subscribers know you are credible and not intent of spamming them are:
- Use testimonials on your website. People like to feel part of a group and follow in other peoples successful footsteps.
- Publish your blog comments (after moderating). This adds credibility.
- Clearly state on your sites that you don’t spam or disseminate their information (disclaimer).
- Do what you say you are going to do. By delivering on a promise subscribers are likely to share your content and bring in new subscribers.
- Only email subscribers about what Call to action they subscribed to. This will reduce un-subscriptions.
- Make it straightforward for people to unsubscribe.
To convert more readers to be subscribers you need to overcome their objections and deal with those head on. So again using the psychology of an average reader, be upfront. Reassure them that you won’t do what they are worried that you might.
I personally would never spam anyone’s email address. Never sell or pass their details to any third parties. Strictly only use details to help people achieve online success in their business.
I am also giving away this eBook:
I think this eBook together with my blog and mailing list subscription will give you all the tools you need. I’d like wish you every success in your online business.
